Comparisons can be made to bands like Talking Heads and MGMT, in the heritage of Frank Zappa, Rush, Mike Patton, and Tortoise

Reptar Return with Lurid Glow

Listen to lead single "Ice Black Sand" --->

Synth-pop dance party band Reptar returns with their second full length, “Lurid Glow” out March 31st, 2015 on joyful Noise Recordings. "Lurid Glow continues the exploratory rousing spirit of their 2012 debut, "Body Faucet."

Reptar simultaneously showcases musicianship in the heritage of Frank Zappa, Rush, Mike Patton, and Tortoise - creating a blend of party music suitable for music nerds.

"Lurid Glow" continues Reptar's exploration of afro-beat indie electro-pop with a heart. The scope of this album is broader than Body Faucet but retains the earnestness of a band just wanting to have a good time and make you feel good enough to shake your money-maker.

"A larger, more honed-in sound...

...and feels like the most fully-realized vision the band has presented thus far." - Paste Magazine

Reptar 'Lurid Glow' Videos

Watch three videos from the first three tracks released from Lurid Glow: No One Will Ever Love You, Ice Black Sand, and Cable.

For anyone that's listened to Reptar before, you'll quickly hear that the band has evolved and matured, and is sounding more like a studio band power house.

The comparisons to Talking Heads and other 80's pop stalwarts like Tears For Fears and even Men At Work will slip right in with nods to contemporaries MGMT, Passion Pit, and Ra Ra Riot. But “Lurid Glow” also showcases musicianship in the heritage of Frank Zappa, Rush, and Mike Patton.

The unforgettably sincere vocals of Graham Ulicny elaborately deliver striking versions of straightforward lines like "you were my love" on “Sea of Fertility” while adding weight to headier stuff on "No One Will Ever Love You."

The best things come in thin square packages.
